I Want Wednesday

This week's question:

Your house is going to be on one of those home makeover shows. What room do you want done? What do you want done to it?
I'd actually like to have my backyard done, if that counts. I'd like to have a patio or deck where I could put my grill and a table & chairs. I'd like to have a raised herb & vegetable garden. Oh! And a fire pit! And maybe some of those speakers that look like rocks, so I could play music out there from my computer just inside the kitchen. I'd spend the whole spring/summer/fall outside!

I want to get my resume completed and sent out to potential employers.

1. When did you last feel you were required to jump through meaningless hoops to get something you wanted?
I'm sure there've been other things since this, but the thing that pops out in my head is the refi of my mortgage. Took 6 months to get that damn thing completed!

2. What kinds of hula hoop memories do you have?
Not very good ones...I'm rather uncoordinated and just couldn't get the movement down. Either that, or I just didn't care enough to try harder ...Or maybe a little of both.

3. How do you feel about basketball?
Used to be fun to watch when the Bulls were in their hey day. I can remember getting teary eyed when they won their umpteenth championship.

4. What do you think of hoop earrings?
LOVE THEM! I'm a big fun of obnoxiously large earrings. My grandmother told me last weekend that I like to wear chandeliers on my ears...And?

1. The last band I saw live was Sarah McLachlan and others at Lillith Faire like 10 years ago.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is getting together with family & friends (plus the food...I LOVE turkey & mashed taters & effing pumpkin pie!!) (if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is going to be on a tight budget this year. Crummy.
4. Thoughts of my to-do list for the weekend fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear loud, bright, creative makeup every day.
6. Bagpipes are really neat - the music from Braveheart - AWESOME.

Needless to say, that ended badly. lol

I am thinking- How horrible it's going to be to drive home...My AC's out and apparently the Heat Index is 105. Hopefully my fat ass doesn't pass out trying to drive home.

I am thankful for- My paycheck (Oh yeah, friends & fam, too ;-))

From the kitchen- Tonight's dinner will be Shake n Bake Chicken, I think...I was going to grill, but seriously, after the drive home, I'm not going to want to set foot outside.

I am creating- *hopefully* some sort of photography backdrop...Sorta depends on whether or not Hubby buys the PVC pipe that I asked him to get.

I am wearing- jeans, a blouse and gym shoes...Pretty typical outfit for myself.

I am going- to the kitchen on the other side of the floor to make my lunch

I am hoping- that my company's president decides to sell. It'll force me to look for something new.

I have a love/hate relationship with Fridays...

I LOVE knowing that the weekend is just around the corner...But I HATE trying to pass the last 8 hours of the work week. I swear, I've been at work for four hours and I've actually worked for about 45 minutes. Yay email, Facebook and the wonderful world of blogging.

Anyway, in an attempt to pass some more time before doing any more work, I'm stealing a new meme from Muffs. Thankyouverymuch.

1) Single, Taken, or Crushing?
Definitely taken, but I have a huge crush on Josh Holloway from Lost (Sawyer). I was just reading up on Lost earlier this week and learned that the next season will be the last! I will be very sad when that happens. I want them to stay on the island forever. Or better yet, I'll just find my way to the island with Sawyer and everyone else can go home.

2) Are you happy with where you are?
Physically...I could be happier if I weren't at work, but I like to pay the bills, so I'm okay with it. In the metaphoric sense (as Jamie so aptly put it), yeah, I'm pretty happy. I'm really jonesin' for a kid, but I can continue to be patient...for a while.

3) When you meet the right person, do you fall fast?
Yeah. Before I was married, if the guy was nice enough and showed boyfriend potential, it didn't take long before I was head over heels.

4) Have you ever had your heart broken?
I don't know that I have. I mean, when I was younger, I know I went through some breakups that really hurt. No, wait. I take that back. I definitely have. My first real boyfriend. I was totally smitten with the guy. Geez, I would've done anything for him. And he broke up with me over an IM. I couldn't even get a phone call. It totally came out of the blue, as far as I was concerned. I never really did find out why we broke up. I have to admit, I still look for him on Facebook every once in a while, hoping that I can at least see what he looks like now. I started to say that I hope he's ugly and miserable now, but I really don't. I hope he's happy in life - everyone deserves that.

5) Do you believe that there are certain circumstances where cheating is ok?
I don't believe that it's okay. When you make a commitment to someone, stick to it. And if you don't want to stick to it, then don't stay in the relationship.

6) Would you ever take someone back if they cheated on you?
I would like to say no, but I'd be lying. Hubby and I went through some tough times in our past, and I did take him back. It was a long time ago, and people grow up. I don't agree with the statement 'Once a cheater, always a cheater.' You learn from your mistakes and you change.

7) Have you talked about marriage with another person?
Duh.

8) Do you want children?
Again, duh.

9) How many?
I'd be happy with one right now, but eventually, I'd like to have two.

10) Would you consider adoption?
If we couldn't have our own, I definitely would.

11) If somebody liked you right now, what do you think is a cool way to let you know?
They should send me a note which says 'I like you. Do you like me? Check Yes, No or Maybe' LOL!

Pfft.

Um...I don't think I know what that is...God, I feel old.

14) Do you believe love at first sight exists?
I used to...I think I've become jaded in my old age. lol Really, I think love is something that develops over time. And it changes, too. I love my husband in a much different way than I did 9 years ago (ew...really? nine years?)

15) Are you romantic?
At heart, absolutely. In reality, no way. I'm too lazy to be romantic. And my husband wouldn't know romantic if I threw it at him.

16) Do you believe that you can change someone?
No - a person can only change if THEY want it.

17) If you could get married anywhere, money not an object where would it be?
If I could've gotten married anywhere, it would've been exactly where I did get married. A place that I felt was home to me. I might have had a more low-key reception...Like a BBQ back at the house or something. I found that after I did the whole big shabang thing, I wished I'd taken that money and spent it elsewhere.

18) Do you have feelings for someone right now?
Sure, I've got feelings for all kinds of people! ;-)

19) Have you ever wished you could've had someone but you couldn't?
Yes. Oh Lordy, did I ever. There were a couple guys that I wanted to love so badly...One that I never had the balls to say something to, and one that wasn't at all interested. I'm glad I didn't though. Who knows where I'd be now.

20) Have you ever broken a heart?
Yes, I'm pretty sure that I have. Not that I intentionally said, "Hm...I think I'm going to go in bitch mode and break B's heart." I just thought the grass was greener on the other side. Once I figured out that it wasn't, it was too late.

21) Would you ever fight somebody over your significant other?
Fight someone...? I dunno. I have never been in a fight. But I guess if it came down to it, I would.

22)What would you say about your last ex?
He's a great guy. And I'm sorry if I've ever done anything to hurt him. We've remained sorta neutral friends over the last few years. I try to keep up with him, but he doesn't respond much. That might be his current gf's wishes. Or he might just not give a shit. I care for him and I hope that he finds happiness.

I love a good game!

Melissa posted a game on Monday, where you're given a letter and you have to come up with ten things you love that begin with that letter. (If you wanna play, comment and I'll give YOU a letter! :-)) She gave me the letter C. This wasn't exactly easy and not because I couldn't come up with C things, but because I came up with TOO MANY! I spent all of yesterday thinking of things that start with the letter C, and then had to narrow down my list to 10!

The first one was really easy - Chris! The man really makes me insane sometimes. But I love him. He's really everything to me. My best friend, my love and the person that I will share the rest of my life with. How could he NOT be my favorite C item? :-)

Next is Cats! I love my kitties so very much. I swear Bubba (the fat black one) is a homo (of course he is...I always was a fag hag. ;-)) and Woofie thinks he's a tiger with those ridiculously long claws. Until we actually HAVE a baby, these two felines are my only children.

CARBS! Potatoes and pasta and bread...Mmmm...I mean, seriously, what's not to like? Unless you don't like the extra poundage, but whatever.

Cupcakes are the best!!! I love making cupcakes. They're about the only thing I can bake and NOT mess up. I love dyeing the frosting different colors and using sprinkles. They're just so pretty!!!

Camping! My first camping trip was maybe five years ago. I can't get enough of it! You know, you'd think someone like myself, who like to be all girly wouldn't like it. No power, no fluffy bed, no a/c...But really, it's awesome. I love being in the outdoors. Smelling the fresh air and sitting around a campfire. Most of the time, when we go camping, it's with a bunch of older-ish people that I don't really know (friends of Hubby's mom), but I still really enjoy it. Remind me to post a blog about the time we went to South Dakota! That was QUITE a trip! :-)

Curls!!! I love wearing my hair with big fat curls like this. I've debated getting a perm to try and replicate the way Christina Applegate wears her hair in 'Samantha Who'...I've never EVER had a perm though, so I'm very hesitant. I suppose a curling iron does the job just as well, huh?

Cuddling! Who doesn't love a good cuddle??? I could just lay in bed with Hubby (or the cats for that matter) and cuddle for a good few hours! That'd be an excellent Sunday afternoon, don't you think?

Cooking! Now that I no longer have meals made for me (Dad/Cafeteria), I have to cook for myself. Most of the time, Hubby isn't home to have dinner with me, so I have a lot of freedom as to what I can make and different foods to try. I've really found that I LOVE cooking. It's a hobby that really has an end result. And I think I do alright...:-)

Cars - preferably old school muscle cars. This 69 Chevy Nova SS is my dream car. All the noise that they make...They're just so powerful. Have you ever gone to the track and seen people drag race these puppies? They literally make my heart flutter. It is the most awesome feeling!

Christmas! I know that the holidays can be stressful for a lot of people, but I just LOVE it. Everything about Christmas is so fun for me. The music, the shopping, wrapping gifts, the decorations...I Love Love LOVE the lights. Every year, I like to drive around on Christmas Eve and look at all the lights on people's homes. It's nice to get together with family and spend time with people that you love.
